    1. I love to read books that have been omitted from the Bible. With the exception of The Book of Enoch, The Book of Jubilees is my favorite lost book that I think should have been included in the finalized text. My opinion as to why it was left out is due to its largely fantastic and somewhat unrealistic storylines, true or false. The Book of Enoch and The Book of Jubilees are really companion books. The Book of Enoch tells us the flood was primarily to get rid of the fallen ones and their descendan [...]

    2. Somewhat fanciful at times, but overall pretty interesting. Cain's wife is mentioned (one of his sisters, apparently). It also makes the assertion that animals talked in the garden of Eden, then lost that ability after the fall. It goes into more details of fallen angels, too. If you're interested in Jewish history/myths this is a must read. I read it online here: sacred-texts/bib/jub/iThis should not be regarded as literal history, as it's not inspired by God though the Ethiopian Orthodox churc [...]

    3. This was an interesting book that covers Genesis and some of Exodus. It goes into a lot more detail than the bible does. I would recommend the book to any Christian.

    4. I'm not comfortable giving a ranking to apocryphal writings, but I did learn some new and interesting tid-bits which enhanced the Biblical stories in Genesis. For example, Genesis doesn't say anything about "Leah" after Rachel dies, but the Book of the Jubilees states that upon her death Jacob mourned, missed her terribly, and that he'd never heard her speak a harsh word. She also outlived Bilhah and Jacob's only daughter Dinah. No earth-shattering revelations here, but just some interesting det [...]

    5. I found this book interesting. I do not recommend this because I know few people who would enjoy this. I took Old Testament theology from a Jewish rabbi at a Catholic university and acquired an interest in the Pentatuch. This book looks at Genesis and Exodusodus. It was one of the books that did not earn inclusion in the Bible, probably because of the redundancy.

    6. So far I love it. It is really filling in the gaps in Genesis, although some of the vocabulary requires a Bible Dictionary.

    7. Pretty good, but a lot was left out.To learn moree about Abraham and what was in Jubliees time.I wish the author did more on what all took place.

    8. translated from ethiopic; loaded with ancient practices from all the times before and up to moses;difficult to read but very informative

    9. Trying to work my way through the Pseudepigrapha and this was a fascinating read. It is 50 chapters that correspond loosely to the 50 chapters of Genesis and give some additional details that are not in Scripture. Whether they are true and accurate or not I cannot say. But I do fancy the bit about animals speaking Hebrew before the fall.

    10. Book of JubileesI felt this book authentic to the Hebrew teachings elsewhere. What I liked was the celebrations were together in one book.I recommend to those who intend to keep God's laws and observe the celebrations.

    11. Very interesting book. Similar to the book of Genesis, but with some additional information. Well worth reading in my opinion.

    12. Awesome story that follows the Old Testament. However, it gives more details about the life of Moses.

    13. Fun drinking game: read Jubilees and do a shot of tequila whenever a major textual variation comes up in a parallel of the Masoretic or Septuagint Genesis traditions. Chase it with a beer when the Ethiopic version and Dead Sea Scrolls versions agree against the Septuagint and Masoretic versions.Er. is that just me?The book is well-translated enough, though not spectacularly, from Ethiopian sources. (For those who do not know or read introductions: the book was well-known to early Christians, but [...]

    14. Very interesting It's very interesting to get the other information on how the Jews transmitted their history or story. It's an addition all reading to the bible that she'd light on how the Jews thought and understood their faith

    15. I would suspect a rabbi wrote this in the name of "the angel of presence" in order to give legitimacy to the rabbi's own views.

    16. Very goodI loved it it added to my bible reading more details in depth I don't regret getting this book at all

    17. This book was a great addition to my versions of the bible. Had no idea this book existed. Good read.

    18. Very interesting.I wouldn't preach on it, nor would I base any new beliefs or doctrine on it, but it fills in the gaps with names and some details.
