    1. A loving biography by Rutherford's adopted daughter. At times Simmons interjects too much of her own life stories into the book, but she succeeds in creating a warm portrait of her mother. The best parts of the book are the chapters devoted to Rutherford's film success as Miss Marple and the movies that followed.

    2. Odd, jumbled memoir. Very dated, and oddly stresses inconsequential happeningsand people while leaving out major details. Still, worth skimming through.
