    1. The title is misleading, as about half of the people included in this book are not actually saints, although they may be on the path as "blessed". This is in part because so many of the people included here are from more recent history, and the canonization process is now more complicated than in older history. However, it also means that we often have a lot more detailed information on a person's life as a result. I was unfamiliar with many of the people in this book, and it did achieve a certa [...]

    2. I came upon Joan Carroll Cruz's book on incorruptibles a while back in my parish's adoration chapel. Now I cannot get enough of her! As someone else who writes about saints (only women who've been beatified or canonized, in my case), I truly admire her research, her succinct writing style, and her deep faith. This book will provide great comfort to anyone suffering from an illness, chronic or otherwise.
