    1. BE READY FOR SOME MORE RAPHAEL AND CYN TIME!SO GOOD! I was disappointed with the previous book but this one got me obsessed about the series all over again. Of course I loved this book so much because it was mostly about Raphael and Cyn, **sigh, which are one of the best couples I have been reading about lately. While the book is called Sophia and introduces us to a new couple, that relationship is almost quickly and shallowly described. And I'm ashamed to say that this was what I loved the most [...]

    2. If you decide to read this series, you are actually going in at the right time, because the books are already out there. You see, our beloved author is all about the teaseIf you haven't seen this talking dog, you have not lived.youtube/watch?v=IYMuSEvery book ends in a cliffhanger. Just know that going in and you will be fine. I don't care as long as the next book is available. I just feel like I'm watching my stories or something. The other thing I've noticed is that the author isn't that great [...]

    3. This series is so underrated that it makes me cry. Brutal vampires, tight writing, and hot sex = amazingness. This 4th book in this series was possibly my favorite. We get a TON of Raphael and Cyn, which was an enormously pleasant treat, and also got a great main couple with Sophia and Colin. While Sophia and Colin don't hold a candle to Raphael and Cyn, I liked the twist of featuring a female vampire and her human mate. I think I'm also getting very used to the gruesome nature of these books. I [...]

    4. Another winner! This is just a fantastic series, but this by far is my fave! It has heaps of action, hot loving and the storylineant! If you have to pick up a series, this is a must.

    5. OMGwhat a fantastic read. This series just keeps getting better and better. I loved Sophia with her strength and determination and her love for Colin. I loved Colin just a much for the same reasons. But let me tell you folks Raphael was off the charts; damn I can't even put in to words what I felt for him. I've always had a soft spot for him but nowl I can say is WOW! Of course Cyn was present and you have give the girl props. She's tough as nails and when she's injured by some dip shits who tar [...]

    6. Sophia has been summed from her home in South America to Vancouver by her Sire. Upon her arrival, she finds that he is missing and has left a letter and a picture of three murdered vampires that will lead her over the boarder and into the territory of a very powerful vampire lord. Sophia knows that what lies ahead for her will be dangerous but what she never expected to see was the man she fell in love with a decade ago. Colin Murphy is a retired Navy SEAL and is currently working security for a [...]

    7. My dear Raphael I LOVE YOU!!!! I would easily given this book 4 stars, just for my favorite couple in the series (Cyn & Raphael), however Sophia and Colin's part was boring, hence the 3 stars

    8. Sophia [image error]ColinAly: Hello guys! Me and Maru finished the 4th book in the Vampires in America series and wanted to share with you our thoughts. Maru what did you think of it?Maru: I loved that we had so much of Raphael and Cyn!!! Of course both were pure kickass and übber steamy :)) I really enjoyed the story line and how the author continued the world building. What about you Aly?Aly: I liked it for the same reasons, but I wasn't impressed with the main characters, we had too little d [...]

    9. Strong 2.5 to 3. Yes, the epilogue is nothing more than a set up for the next book ending with a tacky "to be continued" just like all the other books. Yes, I downgraded a star for it. In fairness to the book, however, if you skip the epilogue the books is fairly self contained, making allowances for the longer arc.The book was not too bad, but it was a bit haphazard. The romance elements were as much, or more, about Raphael and Cyn as they were about Sophia and Colin. I found myself flipping th [...]

    10. 3.5 starsThis was my least favorite of the series so far, Sophie was not a great character. And her and Colins story line was really just a tie in for the real story. Raphael and Cyn are called to investigate the deaths of 2 of Raphaels vampires. The storyline is a murder mystery plot, but somehow starts with Sophia's sire Lucien screwing up royally in Vancover. I think this story could have survived without Sophia all together and could just have been another Raphael and Cyn mystery. But I'm [...]

    11. 3.5 starsThis book was better than the last as far as plot. Still the book could use a content editor to straighten out silly plot holes and keep the world building consistent. However as always, it's entertaining. This installment has more of Raphael. And this author can write a hell out of an alpha male. Collin was delicious.Unfortunately the relationship between Sophia and Collin lacked depth. It was based on a second chance but we got very little in the way history between the two. Therefore [...]

    12. OkayBefore I begin I will tell you the reason why I liked this book so much. Almost half the book is told by the POV of none other but my favorite Vampire in the series, Raphael.*****SPOILERS*****Raphael and his gang will travel to Seattle to investigate the death of two of his children and will find out that there was a third attempt that didn't work out. With the help of Cyn, Sophia (a vampire who belongs to Lucien but has come to Seattle following leads her sire left her on another triple mur [...]

    13. Even though I freaking love this series, the 'to be continued' endings are getting really old. The books will sell without the little three paragraph cliffhangers. They're good enough. Just saying. And while I love the series, I was a bit disappointed with Sophia's story. It was actually only half her story and half went back to Raphael and Cyn. Not that I'm complaining about more Raphael! It was just a bit convoluted, bouncing back and forth between the two couples. It seemed as if Sophia and Co [...]

    14. Raphael & Cyn are up front & center again as they find themselves at the heart of the trouble brewing with the horrific deaths of a few of Raphael's vampires. Raphael goes into protection & revenge mode, his main goal to keep Cyn safe while he hunts down the perpetrators & deals out his own punishment. The banter between Raphael & Cyn is laugh out loud worthy as he continues to try to cage his mate for her own protection, and she keeps telling him no way in hell will she allo [...]

    15. This was the fourth book in the series. I love this series! The published synopsis is a little off! That's the secondary plot! Really, the main story focuses on Cyn & Raphael Still. Raphael feels 2 vampires get murdered in his sleep, so he and his entourage (including Cyn) head off the Washington State to find the murderers. One human woman was raped and almost killed. She was the mate of another vampire.Sophia comes to Washington from Canada, because her maker requests her to come to him &a [...]

    16. 3.5 starsI am a bit disappointed by this onewell, actually with one part of it, the part that follows Sophia and Colin's story - which is where the disappointment comes in "what story"?I didn't feel shit, for them, about them, or whatsoever! BUTluckily we have another part that follows right beside the story line and that one follows the remarkable duo: Raphael and Cyn, if there weren't for them, I'm actually sad to say, I would have probably ditch the book!so, thank fuck for them!I love the act [...]

    17. 4.5 stars.More about Raphael and Cyn here than Sophia and Collin.Well, I'm not complaining, I love to get more R&C than anyone else from this series:)

    18. 2 stars is me being generous. It's the weakest of the bunchEvery series is likely to have a weak entry and this one is it for Vampires in America. Raphael and Cyn are back in the spotlight, but they now they share it with a crop of new characters, including the title vampire character. This time we move northwest to Vancouver, British Columbia and Washington state. Sophia herself has been summoned there by her Sire in the wake of three vampires’ untimely murders. Coincidentally, Colin Murphy, a [...]

    19. Reviewed at Bitten By Paranormal RomanceSOPHIA is Book #4 in the Vampires in America series. Although I haven’t read the first three books in the series, I didn’t have any problem acclimating to the nuances of this wonderful, preternatural world. There are actually two stories running concurrently here: Sophia and Colin along with Raphael and Cyn. SOPHIA began with a helluva hook and didn’t let up.After many years, Sophia is summoned back to Vancouver by her Sire, Lucien. When she arrives, [...]

    20. Even though this book is titled Sophia, it is as much about Cyn and Raphael as it is about her, and it was fantastic. I enjoyed the steamy relationship between the scrumptious Colin and the delightful Sophia, but the passion between Raphael and Cyn was sizzling. I LOVED it! There was also a professional relationship and friendship that developed between Cyn and Colin, much to Raphael’s dismay that made for a very interesting part of the story. Lots of action and Duncan, terrific dialogue and D [...]

    21. ** 3.5 stars **Enjoyed the Cyn and Raphael parts but the other romance (Sophia and Colin) wasn't detailed enough.

    22. This is the first book I have read in this series, but it definitely won't be the last. An enjoyable addition to the vampire genre. If you enjoy vampire novels, you can't go wrong with this one.Sophia is a beautiful but deadly vampire, living the decadent life in Brazil. When her sire, Lucien, calls her back to Vancouver, she has no choice but to obey. When she arrives, she learns that Lucien has disappeared and three of his progeny have been murdered.Raphael is the Vampire Lord of the western U [...]

    23. I'm just gonna give this a 5 star just because there is so much of Cyn's and Raphael's page time. I would never have guess Reynolds will still continue writing on them. I thought they got their HEA and be done with. If you are wondering who are Cyn and Raphael, they are the couple from Book 1 and 2. Although the story of Sophia and Colin started in this book 4, almost half the book is about Cyn and Raphael, so if you miss the book 1 and 2, I felt this book will not be as good.Sophia is a lone va [...]

    25. The title could have been Raphael #2 (a good thing in my opinion). I didn't like Sophia. It is a great story though. The ending of the previous book left Raphael all bloody. Here we find out the cause.*** Possible spoilers for previous books***A couple of his vampires were killed and a mate of one who survived was raped and tortured. Now that can really make a reader angry. At the same time Sophia's Sire, who is missing, made her return to Canada to deal with deaths of some Canadian vampires. Her [...]

    26. I can honestly say I enjoyed this book. I love getting back to the old school vampires with mega powers. Raphael is seriously "that dude". I love Juro and Duncan also. I also like Cyn. She's strong and independent but working on sharing her life with Raphael. This story is a serious throwback to territorial disputes and bigotry against vampires. It was great to read something that was just a good story, great fight scenes, great displays of vampire power and a bit of intrigue. The story is named [...]

    27. 4.25/5This is one of these books which you can not judge by its cover. I don't really know who stands behind the decision to keep horrible covers for the whole series, but I would really want to strangle them.I want to have these absolutely wonderful series in paperback standing proudly on my bookshelf, but with the covers like this? No way. Ranting aside I luuurve Vampires in America.D.B.Reynolds managed to create one of the most delicious couples in PNR genre - Raphael and Cyn, a powerful ruth [...]

    28. Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Michelle L. Olson: If you follow my reviews you know that I adore this series and have had nothing but great things to say about it. This book had me a little worried though. It has a female lead, and I've been so enamored of D.B's super alpha male vamp leads up until now that I really wasn't sure what this book was going to be like. Even after starting it, I still wasn't entirely sure, but things quickly turned around and once again, it captivated [...]
