    1. Review via Cracking the CoverIf you’re looking for a different kind of Halloween book, one that the whole family can enjoy, then “One Spooky Night,” by Kate Stone, might just fit the bill. One dark and spooky night a little monster walked in the moonlight. Neither bats nor hooting owls make him shudder. Little ghosts cross the stream, but he knows they are not mean. A black cat may not scare him either, but what about when he reaches the spookiest spot?Alone, all of the elements of “One S [...]

    2. I'm going to start adding my kids' favorite books on here, too just because there might be other mothers looking for good kids' reads. This one I picked up because of the very cool artwork. It has interweaving pages that make for a totally cool visual read for the kiddos. My boys who are ages 2 & 3.5 LOVE this book and want it read to them every night right now. You should definitely pick up a copy!

    3. One Halloween night a "little monster" is out and about walking through the woods. This is a great story about being brave and taking on your fears. I think I may be reading more into this little story than need be, but that is how I saw it. It is a cute story and the book is presented in a slight "crafty" (play on words) way. Quick and fun read.

    4. A cute book about a little monster walking through the forest and not getting scared by all the things it meets. Each page has two parts one a cut out page and one as velum overlay. Each page has text that is connected. Toddler and up. Cute ending.

    5. Very cute story. I like the semi-transparent pages that let children peek ahead and behind. I also like that the main character is seems to be playing hide and seek with the reader on many pages.

    6. Standard Halloween fare -- rhyming along through spooky woods for the Halloween party climax. Whatever you call this kind of illustration, it's perfect for evoking the Halloween spirit.

    7. 37 months - A different kind of interactive book with cutout sections and translucent pages. The story is so-so but the illustrations make for a fun holiday read.
