    1. Excellent bookAn excellent and detailed look at the various monsters that populate Maryland. I was already familiar with Black Aggie and had read a bit about the Snallygaster and Chessie, but I enjoyed reading more about them and learning about the Goatman, Bunnyman and many others. If you're curious about Maryland history and folklore, this is an excellent book to expand your knowledge.

    2. Unlike the other books in this series, this is a book about folkloric creatures rather than real cryptids. The author primarily writes about folklore with his other books and does so here as well instead of writing about actual cryptids.

    3. A good review of the monsters that are said to populate this state. If you've ever wondered what a Snallygaster was, or heard of Chessie the Chesapeake Bay sea serpent, or wondered about the legend of Black Aggie, this book is for you. An enjoyable read.

    4. It still baffles me that these monsters have been around for many, many years, yet there is no real proof (scientific or otherwise) that they really exist.
