    1. 4.5 stars. Review to come. Really, really liked this book, and will explain why soon. ------Death and Friendship. Love and Gaming.Mind and Machine. The Meaning of Life.High School Graduation. The End of the World. That Kind of Stuff.A group of teens discovers that the online game they’ve been playing has serious, life-impacting consequences. While this tight knit group seems on the edge of unraveling at the beginning of the book, the author skillfully interweaves the plot of his action-packed, sc [...]

    2. When I started this book, I felt Gray had an interesting set of voices for his character, but I didn't think that it necessarily was the best written thing I have ever laid eyes on. It wasn't that it was bad, but that it wasn't exactly the quality I was hoping for. My opinion on it changed greatly the further I got along in the book, though. The writing took leaps in quality and became something I really quite enjoyed. I'd recommend this, though be willing to make it through a slightly rough fir [...]

    3. These does not often happen to me. I read this book in close to one sitting, interrupted only by going to work and meals. We Can Be Heroes is a novel where you are drawn in by the story and stay for the characters. Scott Fitzgerald Gray has a gift in being able to write absorbing stories, while populating them with people you can root for and root against. I am loking forward to Mr. Gray's next book

    4. I put off reading this till I had a print copy in hand, and am sorry I waited so long. If you liked Cory Doctorow's 'Little Brother', chances are you'll like 'We Can Be Heroes'. The author has managed to weave narrator introspection with high action in a wonderful portrait of teen fraternity in the face of 'be careful what you wish for' surprises. For best effect, line up the fabulous late 70's/early 80's soundtrack on your music device as you read.
