    1. Oh my, I think I have written a review for each book in this series and so I fear by now, the first paragraph of all my reviews may have become too clichéd and repetitive because quite frankly, I cant think of anything more to say, other than "Alex does it again!" "Yet another rip-roaring adventure in Time", "Brilliantly narrated", "breakneck pace", "The best book in the series so far!" and "it made me cry"wait.wait"it made me cry" ?I dont think I had done that with the other books, perhaps a l [...]

    2. 'In Victorian London-town there lived cyborgs… apparently.'1886, London. It’s dirty, grimy and full of English types. Nightmare for some, not for our glorious time travelling ‘humans’ – Maddy, Liam, Sal and Rashin. The team is broken both mentally and physically. This theme carries on from the ending of ’City of Shadows’’ the sixth book in the series. We’ve had a bit of everything thrown at us by Alex Scarrow, from dinosaurs, Romans and futuristic cyborgs. It’s been a ride up [...]

Tapi The Pirate Kings ceritanya tidak terlalu menegangkan.

    4. Now that was a fine piece of fiction! This was by far my favorite in the series so far. And it's not just because our boy Liam becomes a Pirate King either. It was really, really good. There was a lot of good tension and suspense, just the right amount of paradoxical time-travel, and a heap of damn fine narrative involving pirates doing pirate things. I absolutely loved it.Now for the spoilers. (view spoiler)[I like it that Mr Scarrow let Liam and Rashim end their lives as middle-aged men. I tho [...]

    5. The book Time Riders - The Pirate Kings is about three children who have a job to look after the timeline of the world, to prevent people from going back in time and changing it. In this book the three children, Sal, Maddy, Liam, and a man called Rashim, who comes along with them, go back in time to watch the Great Fire of London. Unfortunately they get separated along the way. Two of them live to become great pirates.I chose this book because I have read the first six books of this series and I [...]

    6. *Contains spoilers for anyone who hasn't read from book 5 and up.This Time Riders entry was far different than any of the previous 6 books. There was a completely off balance dynamic than the normal formula that mostly drove the previous books (Liam gets lost -> where in time is Liam -> do the math and get Liam back to 2001). Typically Liam can be lost from anywhere between 6 or 7 months. This entry in the series flips that formula over. While this book DOES start off very slow, the payoff [...]

    8. The most touching adventure of the trio si far. I cant stop sighing "aww" at the last half of the book.I feel like this book's sole purpose is to show the personal conflict that the trio felt after realizing the fact that they were not born like they thought they were. Finding out that you're a living machine designed to think that they were a human, saved from death by a time traveller could fuck up someone's mind, and thats exactly what happened to the trio. Since the last book where they got [...]

    9. Another good one. The only note I have, though, is that there was nothing from the continuous plot of the books. Well, except for that one thing with Sal, but other than that it seemed like the author decided to take a break from it for a little bit. Which I'm not saying is necessarily a bad thing. But after giving us one mystery after another, it seems kinda weird to cut it off now. But that's all. I definitely enjoyed this one just as much as the previous ones.

    10. Another good story. This time Liam and Rashim lived until ripe age, made history and died while lost in time, and were saved just before they write history. Go figure :) It is complicated, but I think Scarrow had done a nice job juggling all the time frame at once. I'm disappointed only because this time Bob and Becks doing almost nothing. So now the team had proved themselves to be capable of doing the history saving while going rebel. Wonder what's in store in the next book.

    11. This one was better than others in the series. Though, I did find it quite disturbing that the main characters in the beginning of the story were going to go watch London burn down, as they said, "for fun". What's fun about watching people die in a city wide fire??

    12. We're finally up to book seven in the fantastic Time Riders series, and the end is in sight. Book 8 will be out in July 2013, and book 9 I can imagine won't be far behind it. Apart from one small dip (The Eternal War), this series has been brilliant, and I will be sorry once I turn the last page of book 9. We've had everything that Alex Scarrow could possibly throw at his series. Dinosaurs, Romans and now finally we've reached pirates (with Mayans to come in book 8!!!) To be honest, this could h [...]

    15. [NOTE: After reading the final book in the series I concluded that I didn't like The Time Riders at all. My original review remains unchanged but I do not recommend this series. As this book was my favourite, I chose to ignore the disappointment of the future books and kept the rating 4 stars.]I'd been really looking forward to this book - the cool title had gotten me excited - and I am pleased to say that it was just as good as I'd hoped. Liam and Rashim changed heaps in this book, along with M [...]

    16. I've just finished reading book 7 of this whirlwind of a series! Wow! What a great, fast paced, intriguing book surely one of the best yet!The TimeRiders series is one I have been reading for around 4 years now and there are not many book series I can read and enjoy just as much as my 4 year younger self did when I first time hopped into this cool, sci-fi adventure! I must admit, this series has had it's ups and downs, some books I've enjoyed a lot more than others and some I've struggled to get [...]

    17. It's been a while since I delved into the world of the TimeRiders - I've been saving them up so as not to have to hang on too long for the final installment. With book nine only a few weeks away, I opened up the seventh installment, slightly nervous about what was in store. The idea of the TimeRiders somehow finding themselves involved with pirates seemed somehow far-fetched, but actually it was really well done.Fresh from finding out they're aren't quite who they thought they were, the TimeRide [...]

    18. Time Riders: The Pirate Kings is another fantastic book in the Time Riders series. This time, Liam ends up escaping from the great fire of London on a pirate ship with his recently recruited teammate(as in two books ago) Rashim. This allows for a nice change of pace, as majority of the book centres around Liam and Rashim's two decades as pirates. Like a clone of Steven Moffat,Alex Scarrow cleverly weaves in time travel into the plot(as he has done with the other books) and this time, the timey w [...]

    19. I think I left the gap between 6 and 7 too long.Couldn't remember half the story from the previous episode, the City of Shadows, so I found this one a little harder to get into. The story isn't a million miles away from Steve white's Pirate episode with Jason Thanau, but here and there is an awful lot of weeping and wailing from the female protagonists. I found myself skipping these rather tedious soul-searching moments and getting on with the action. Mr Scarrow is always spot on with his descri [...]

    20. I liked this addition, though it wasn't my favourite. I do want to know how many more books there will be however, and I'd really like to know more about Pandora. I thought it was funny how Liam and Rashid named everything in their new city and ports names that were relevant to Maddy and Saleena of course. It was all to attract their attention, but it was so funny. I think what's different about the last few books is that after the big bang of the climax of the overall arc a few books ago, the f [...]

    21. 2.5 stars. Meh. This was easily the worst of the series so far. Which isn't to say that it was bad, just that it didn't live up to my expectations based on earlier books in the series. I was pretty excited about a pirate story, but it just ended up being really underwhelming. It took way too long for the piratey stuff to actually happen, and then it turned into this weird "Liam O'Connor, saviour of runaway slaves" storyline that then morphs into "Liam O'Connor, pirate king for 20 years" thing an [...]

    22. After the brilliant twists and turns of the previous book, which for a lesser series than this, would have been the end of things, it was nice to get back to more familiar ground. However, that isn't to say, dull, boring, or even repetitive. Sure there was time travel, and some re-imagining of history with both fact and fiction blending so well that you couldn't always tell the difference, but it was still different from the previous books. The main reason for this was that you could never be en [...]

    23. I look forward to TimeRiders novels obsessively. I can think of very few series that have given me half as much pleasure as this one. They might be targeted at youngsters but they find the youngster in me and it can't get enough of them. This seventh book in what will be a series of nine is slightly different. It takes a step back, giving our team (or at least part of it) a distraction from the revelations of Book 6. While The Pirate Kings contributes relatively little to the the TimeRiders stor [...]

    24. First book I have read in the time rider's Review I finally finished the whole book in 2 days straight and boy,it sure made me feel 'realistic' like I was watching a HD movie or watching them like a ghost(lol). But still, since this is my first book of the time rider series,I was confused by some of the story lines and characters. But that didn't stop me from enjoying the story flow a lot and I felt that I have grown up together with the characters.but the development of the girls are roughly half [...]

    25. Book 7, I read the synopsis and thought oh dear. But I actually enjoyed it as much as any of the others, and more than some.SPOILERS WITHING(view spoiler)[The cause of them jumping was a bit awful, Maddy feels like sightseeing so they choose. the great fire of london??? why? oh look fire people burning excellent!Sal is reaching the point that I hope the character is killed off so tremendously whiny and depressing I wanted to reach into the book and choke her.Liam of course saved the day, though [...]

    26. 2 more books and it's the end of the series! I've never learned so much history from reading the Timeriders series compared to watching tv and staying in class. But the eerie description of the little space you go through before going to the designated place through time travelling makes me feel that time travelling is best left to be a thing of imagination to kids. It's not all fun and games. Like what happened here in this book all because the four of them decided to go back in time just for s [...]
