    1. Most authors are so delighted to see their name in print (or digital print) that they breath a sigh of relief when their book has been published.A common question I am asked by authors is "How do I increase sales of my book?". Ideally you will start to implement a marketing and publicity plan for your book before it is written, but even if your book has been published for some time, it is important to market your book. This new book is an ideal primer if you are an independent (self published) au [...]

    2. As a fairly new indie author, I try to read all I can about the business of promoting my self-published books. What I love about this book is that multiple contributors weigh in on their areas of expertise. And they are all movers and shakers in the indie book world. These are people you will want to follow on Twitter and Facebook. Speaking of Twitter, I particularly liked the chapter on how to use Twitter for book promotion and was able to use several tips from that chapter immediately. This is [...]

    5. Do not get this book for in-depth help with marketing. What it does is introduce you to a dozen people in the industry who have made it a focus of their career to help indie self publishers publish and/or market their books. The book gives a good overview of all the general techniques of which I am aware in book marketing. The people I already knew before reading this book wrote very solid introductory materials. The bios at the end of each article give you the contact information you need to pu [...]

    6. Good advice from some industry professionals, but I am a bit concerned about its being intimidating to the beginning author. I know many authors do not have the cash to invest in purchasing advertisements, special vender membership, or even their own ISBNs. That said, there are trinkets of information very helpful to the reader. The Tweet information in particular I found of interest. Creating a mailing list, as suggested, is a bigger deal than is indicated in this book and often subject to the [...]

    8. Imagine my shock to discover (after the big day finally arrived when my first book was published), that most of my marketing opportunities were already over. Over? I hadn't even seen them pass by! From that time forward, I was swamped with a deluge of missed opportunities, sold-out tickets, and vital activities I didn't even know the meaning of. Not to mention being technically challenged. Like having a beautiful website (you have to get one of those), except that none of the social network butt [...]

    9. Indie Author Book Marketing Success: This little eBook is packed with helpful information! When I first started reading it, I thought, “Well, this information isn’t new, so I will probably give it three stars.” Some of this information I had gleaned from KDP’s monthly author reports, some of the information came from other marketing books or magazines. However, as I read, I realized the books strength was in placing all the different marketing techniques in one concise location, thus sav [...]

I'm the kind of person that wants to know everything when I get started--no harm in that.I'm not an indie author but I found a piece of gold in each chapter that I can apply to marketing a traditional book. Staci Stallings list of hashtags is worth the price of this book.Face it even traditional authors are responsible for so much marketing this book is a huge help.
