    1. The author is a minister of the Gospel. He has a lot of stories that he tells to help us understand God in a better way. I have been able to share one of those stories with a friend who needed help which fit that situation in her life. Therefore, I see these stories as helpful and soul satisfying. In some places he uses Biblical passages. However, I feel that in too many of the stories he used Biblical references but he did not tell where to find the particular passages. That was a big let down [...]

    2. Well, I have mixed feelings about this one. First of all, let me say that I won this in a First Reads giveaway. I have read several of Olsteen's books in the past and they seem to have the pattern of being quite redundant. The message is excellent, and I love tuning in to his broadcast and listening to his sermons, but his books aren't quite as good. That being said, he does make the point that God doesn't want us to just accept a mediocre life. He has big plans for us, and we need to do our par [...]

    3. I really enjoyed reading this book. This is the first book by Joel Osteen that I read and despite being a Muslim I felt that impressed and motivated throughout the book. So many times I could see how many times my attitude and thinking towards life and prayer and God was incorrect. I also realized how my beliefs were holding me back and how I kept on blaming God for my own mistakes. I really loved the inspiring stories and biblical stories in each chapter which fueled my imagination and desire t [...]

    4. So far, I'm enjoying this read, as it is an easy one, and I always enjoy Joel's programs. I have to agree with some of our other reviews as saying alot of this is redundant, but I think that's his "thing", trying to get some of us "hardheaded" negative thinkers to think more positively, and trust in God to help us out; build our faith to new heights. I hope to finish this book very soon, and I'm proud to say I won this book (Thank you, !)and will have a full review in a day or two! I am now on p [...]

    5. I listen to pastor Osteen every week and I love all his messages. This book was no exception! I love how uplifting and positive he is about God's message! I'd definitely recommend this and any other book of his!*Received an ARC for an honest review.*

    6. Uplifting and thought provoking book - Joel Osteen always has a powerful message - God has wonderful and extraordinary plans for everyones' life.

    7. Very repetitive. Gives one hope that if this thing can get published, anyone can get published. Borderline heresy -- while it is true that God is able to perform miracles and plow through seemingly insurmountable obstacles and respond to one's faith in action, God does not automatically do these things for believers, no matter how much they believe and follow God's path. There are plenty of examples of people of great faith who did not see the fulfillment of God's promises and did not have thing [...]

    8. This is an amazing book! If you only read one of Joel Osteen's books, read this one! Joel gives scriptural reasons for why God wants us to succeed and to live the promises that He has placed in our hearts. Those dreams that we have in our hearts were placed there by Almighty God and will come to pass as we place our faith into action and trust in Him. In some ways, this book reminds me of the movie The Secret. The difference is that this is coming from a Christian perspective. Personally, both w [...]

    9. This is an excellent follow-up to "I Declare". "Breakout" is almost a companion book to "I Declare". By all accounts it is not but one could follow the progression. The only reason I didn't rate this a five star review is the fact that in the later chapters it becomes a bit repetitive to things mentioned in earlier books. However, if you're new to Osteen, this is most definitely a good place to start. I will refer to the opening 12-15 chapters many times. His style is easy to read and purposeful [...]

    10. I really liked Joel's new book. The only reason why I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is that it was many of his sermons rolled into a book. I really like his sermons, but I was hoping for some new material, too. There are some new things in the book, but a majority is sermons that I've already heard. But his message is so positive, that it's excellent reinforcement of things I need to hear! Listen to this book to get yourself pumped up to tackle life! You can do it!

    11. I loved this book and thought it to be very motivating for me. You should always have a positive outlook in life and this just gives you more reason to believe that. Boy, I sure wish more people could believe in themselves to see things through in their lives. Don't give up at the first "no" that you hear. The next one could be the "yes" you were looking for. God has your back. If you are looking for inspiration, this is a great book to read.

    12. My main problem with this book is that Joel uses several many stories & examples to get the reader to the point. Perhaps some readers need several examples. I do not. It frustrated me & I felt like I was wasting my time.

    13. I enjoy listening to Joel Osteen. I just felt this audiobook was a little repetitive. Still a great book with awesome insight.

    14. I loved this book! I don't mind reading it more than once during times when I needed an extra dose of hope and courage!

    15. A very uplifting message. Even though I'm not Christian, it is a great message that you are enough, perfect, and able to excel in life given the right frame of mind one which everyone can obtain.

    16. This book was given to me by a friend, and I can't thank her enough. I left it on my shelf for a few months, then recently picked it up and can not put it down! You might say, 'I know the scriptures and I've already heard this a thousand times before', but he delivers the message in such a calming, and yet uplifting reviving manner. It has truly encourage me and ignited the flame from within to the extent that I've forwarded messages on and discussed with friends and family. If you're tired and [...]

    17. What draws me to Joel Osteen is his optimism. His charisma is catchy lending his words to inspire. I listened to this audio recording on my Nook as I was preparing for work each day. I found that when I arrived at my desk each morning, I was freshly invigorated. I felt victorious regardless of the any obstacles I encountered throughout my day. Mr. Osteen's, BREAK OUT, does not offer any mind boggling light bulb moments. Instead, it offers a simplistic easily obtainable outlook on life. I highly [...]

    18. I'm from Houston and I've heard quite a lot about Osteen. This was my first Osteen book and it might be my last. Osteen wants everyone to "Break Out!" beyond their personal comfort zone. He fills this message with many examples of God's work in his community. The short stories about people are interesting but the book needs more organization than just a collection of stories. The first few chapters quickly pull in the reader but then the book becomes quite repetitive.

    19. I listened to the audiobook version which was read by the author. First exposure to him in any way. Clearly an infectious speaker. The message is one of positive possibilities and one of relying on the Lord. I would like to learn more about his theology, but I was in great need of a pick me up when I listened to this, so at least temporarily it has been a helpful influence.

    20. While Joel isn't necessarily my kind of preacher, his books have really pushed my faith to a new, better level. His hope and enthusiasm, I believe, are strait from God, and you just can't help but smile and repeat after him, "Yes is in my future!" It's like a B-12 shot for your soul. 4 stars because this one was a bit long in my opinion. But a great supplement to my Bible reading.

    21. Amazing and uplifting. Joel never failed to inspire us thru his well written book. Love it and will always read it again from time to time. Simple yet inspiring. Glad that I picked up this book in the first place.

    22. What began as a cursory scan of the blurb of "Your Best Life Now" soon morphed into a unputdownable read. Now, with no apologies Ive found another addiction & its Joel Ostend's books, no thanks to "Break Out"

    23. If you find your self needing a little encouragement or direction. This book will inspire you to conquer everything. Very powerful messages and a great understanding of wht God gifts are.

    24. I can't, I just can't do it! I tried, I tried to be positive and not judgmental, I flipped the jacket cover around so I could TRY and read the words without feeling like I was being stared at by the biggest phony creep, (why DOES he have to plaster every single one of his books with himself on the cover?!! It just seems so vain!! That's what an author bio and pic on the inside of the jacket cover are for!!!) but I just couldn't do it!!!! :01st problem- LOTS of scriptures mentioned, lots of stori [...]

    25. I thank God for anointing Joel to write this book. It's definitely a life changing book, very inspiring. Before, I was just going about my life, praying to God to just help me get by. I thought I had no purpose, no passion, no talent. I was waiting for God to show me what my talent was though. It was hard for me to keep living in the spirit because I had no hope, no vision for my life. I was addicted to this computer. Still wasn't happy. I was stressed and depressed all the time. I didn't believ [...]

    26. So many times I have been down in the dumbs, as I got this book, it would lift me up. God has a great annointing on Joel to encourage believers. To many people attack Joel saying, "He's phony" "He's too positive," "He preaches a feel good message," and my favorite accusation, "He smiles too much." My friends I get it, you may disagree with his theology but pleese have a better explanation. If we are really going to knock the devil down we do not need to aim at people, we need to aim at their bel [...]

    27. "I've learned that when the enemy attacks, God reacts.""When you make God bigger, your problems become smaller.""I've learned that good is the enemy of great." -Joel Osteen

    28. As soon as I opened the book and started reading "Believer bigger," it's like Joel Osteen speaking a live sermon in my home as if I hear his voice loud and clear as it rings in my ear. Shifting is a way to start a chapter and speak on things that people are either going through, struggling to get through, or seeking for a break-through. I am speaking some of the things aloud as well, we do need to BREAK OUT and GET FIT (faith, intimacy[with YHWH God], and trained)!"Don't feel badly because you'r [...]
