    1. A very demanding read. The prose style is extremely dense and tedious at times. Reminds me of Claude Simon with all those sentences in sentences, digressions, parenthesis. Although this short novel follows the protagonist - a present day Don Juan - and his adventures all of the Paris, vanity and erotic aren’t the main plot of the story. It seems to me that the flywheel of the novel is language itself: virtuosity of interludes, excursus, meandering, detours. 3.5 stars.
