    1. I have to confess that the author is my brother and this is not a genre I usually read. But I did and I have to honestly say it was great. I loved the characters. They made me laugh out loud several times and the suspense was enough to keep me reading non stop. Good job little bro and looking forward to the next one!

    2. This Is AmazingI have an Economics exam on Monday and here I am reading Mr. Deas's books. These are that good.I love Red. If Jessica gets her claws into Bennie, I will be glad I have the insurance on my Kindle. I almost wept at the death of a CAR, for Pete's sake. Read this book if only to experience someone experiencing (sorry for the two words together) the ocean for the first time, especially if you haven't. These characters will stay with me for a long time. Wonderful. Aweful in the true sen [...]

    3. It triedThis book is pretty good. I had not read the first book in this series so I don't know if the first book ended in the same fashion that this one did. Lots of characters which could have been developed better. Good story line, but never seemed to mature well. At the end, the reader has been eWaiting for a big finish, but instead it just ended. That is why I wonder if book number one just lead directly into book two. I feel like I wasn't able to w the whole story wrapped up, so I won't be [...]

    4. Really enjoyed this. Benny James, the former FBI agent, is a great central character. Funny but smart. Reminds of the Myron Bolitar character in the Harlem Coben books- which I loved.Fun relationship with his tv anchor girlfriend too.Nice chewy series of crimes to solve.

    5. Not a deep mystery. A bit of a stretch with Red - portrayed as seemingly simple - perhaps a savant? The challenges/jealousy among profess Is probably a fair portrayal and the ultimate unveiling was not a total surprise. The book, a quick read kept my attention.

    6. Good vs. Evil. Read and find who wins.Outstandingly story. Jason Deas is an equal with Child, Ballacci, Tannenbaum, and other writers of similar genre. Can't wait to read book 3. The characters are lovable and believable.

    7. Loved this book.Characters were believable and amusing. Well written and lots of action.Need to go back and read book one. I would recommend this book.

    9. Good read Hard to put down this book! Took only a day to read as it was so intriguing! Did not see the end coming

    10. Excellent mysteryThis book kept my interest from beginning to end. I didn't know who the killer was until the very end. I would recommend this book to anyone liking a good read.

    11. GoodEasy read, entertaining enough. People who like a quick read and a little crime and humor will like this one.

    12. I'm beginning to love these characters. Especially Red, but really the entire cast in this series are complex and interesting. The story takes some wild turns, but careful reading keeps the reader just ahead of the main characters discoveries. Benny is not quite Sherlock Holmes, but he is somewhere near Rockford in abilities and his cases are far more contemporary. Just plain good old entertainment. I will probably read these books as long as new ones are being created. I find them a great diver [...]

    13. Wonderful charactersI could not imagine a group of characters as interesting as these, which is why I read novels rather than write them. The crazed minister of a Mississippi mega-church with cult like qualities hires a former FBI investigator turned Private Investigator to find his son, suspected of being a serial killer. Benny James assembles a team of very eccentric but lovable helpers and proceeds to close the case successfully. Writing more might spoil the story for readers of this review. [...]

    14. Excellent mystery by James Dead.A different kind of mystery. Definitely worth reading. Not going to mention the twists in the plot. I recommend it to you and hope to see more of this author in the future.

    16. This was a very well-written, fast-paced book that was somewhat hard to read. Still, I rated it 4.5 stars.

    17. MysteryRead Birdsongs, read Pushed in one day. Very good book, had me wondering til the end. Ready to read the last book in the series.

    18. Benny James, ex-FBI, is employed by TV evangelist Reverend Jim to find his son, Brother Jim, who is accused of killing young women.Interesting characters, enjoyable story.

    19. Another good book from Jason Deas. I like his character Benny and love "Red". Fairly easy to figure out towards the end, but a fun read.

    20. Jason Deas is one of my new favorite authors. His characters are lively and a real treat. The pace is fast and is one of those books you hate to put aside because you want to know how it ends!
