    1. I was glad to get to the end of this book; just didn't hold my interest. I quickly became bored with the stories.

    2. Sleeps with Dogs: Tales of a Pet Nanny at the End of Her Leash is a hilarious account of Lindsey Grant's launch into the pet care industry after she finished college. I found myself giggling out loud at the comical imagery of this young woman untangling herself from a variety of predicaments that emerged during her nascent dog-walking and pet-sitting career.Drawing upon her natural inclinations as a child to play with both her pet dog and office supplies, the author leveraged those experiences t [...]

    3. - Thinking of something warm to snuggle up to? Then to most pet owners, a warm furry friend serves as the perfect companion. In her book, Lindsay Grant writes about her dog sitting business and the many observations and experiences taking care of her furry friends. Most of these anecdotal tales are full of love and hope. In her book lecture on November 18 at the Georgia Center for the Book in Decatur, Grant gleefully connected with the room full of both book and dog lovers. She surveyed the crow [...]

    4. Another dog book, and I liked this one a lot. I think I picked it up because of the dog sitting thing, which we have done for close friends (who have a lot of big dogs). I didn't know there were that many needy and troubled dogs, as Grant reports. The college graduate falls into subcontracting as a dog overnight sitter and struggles to pay the rent, keep the dogs in order, deal with their various neuroses and quirks, and handles a whole lot of poop. Since it's set in the Berkeley area, I was un [...]

    5. This book exceeded my expectations. I thought it would be a fun and relaxing read about crazy pets and their owners--which it totally is--but it also turned out to be was an inspirational (at least for me) coming-of-age story. I am in my early 20s, suffer from depression and anxiety, and am trying to iron out my own life, and Lindsey Grant's recounting of her similar struggles was deeply encouraging. In short, I loved this book, and I highly recommend it to both animal lovers and people lovers.

    6. Lindsey made the decision to move to California to attend graduate school as a resident. She crashed at friends' of her parents and looked for job. She ended up working as a pet nanny with overnight stays with dogs being especially lucrative for her. This humorous book tells the stories of her times with the variety of dogs she cared for, as well as, her hand to mouth existence. I thought I was a fussy "dog mom" until I read about some of the really over the top requirements owners had for their [...]

    7. I got so excited when I found this book only to be disapointed. Yes , the author loves animals. Yes , the author had various jobs pet sitting, sadly though, I didn't really find any one in particular interesting, insightful or hurnorous. I did find myself impatient to get to the end though since I felt as though I was stuck at a table with a person I hardly knew drone on and on about their job. A little torturous.

    8. I really enjoyed this book Not just the odd, quirky, sometimes hilarious, sometimes sad tales of the animals and their people, but Lindsey's own journey through the tumultuous time of establishing your own footing and finding your own way something so many of us can relate to. Definitely recommended for animal lovers. :)

    9. This is an adorable book of anecdotes about the author's life as a pet sitter. It is cozy, humorous, and wholesome. She had big successes, many struggles, and some failures, as we all do, yet her deep love for animals makes it all likable. She was a featured author at the Decatur Book Festival, and is a charming and enjoyable speaker as well.

    10. I really really really wanted to like this book much more than I did. It's kind of a neat premise, fun interesting endearing dog stories. Sadly though, outside of a few memorable incidents and personalities, it becomes kind of a hot mess if indistinguishable anecdotes, mixed in with tales of self-loathing.

    11. Not quite what I expected but an enjoyable read, especially once it hits its stride a few chapters in. Very relatable to anyone who remembers your first years out on your own!Full review here: amandasbookblog.wordpress

    12. Dog lovers, especially those who dream of working with dogs, will love this book. Wonderful descriptions of dogs, their personalities, and their living conditions. Plenty of humor, but also a look at how challenging it can be to try to make a living loving other people's pets.

    13. A delightful read that offers wonderful insight and behind the scenes look into the world of pet sitting. Funny and moving. I finished it in one sitting on a rainy Sunday with my dogs curled up next to me on the sofa.

    14. College graduate moves to California to begin the next chapter of her life. Being close to broke, she begins pet sitting. The main take away is that people hiring pet sitters are really weird.
