    1. Taryn Magill was hired by the Stokes County Historical Society to paint a picture of Windwood Farms. The locals referred to the farm as the devils house. Even the vandals didn't dare to go near the stone house. First Taryn would take pictures of the run down building from the outside and then from the inside. It was strange that the inside of the farm house looked like it had been in the 1920's. Taryn thinks that she hears some strange noises while inside but maybe her mind is just playing trick [...]

    2. This is a ghost story containing everything you could possibly ask for: a main character who can “see” history through the camera lens, old tumble-down buildings and rumours about ghosts and terrible crimes, and people who fear what she might stumble upon.Taryn has just turned thirty and she is painting historic buildings to pay her bills and as soon as she arrives at the old farm she knows something is wrong. Apart form being very talented at painting she has a weird knack for what a place [...]

    3. Maybe more of 3.5 or 3.75. I'm held back from 4 stars because I listened to the audio version of this book (I'm packing to move, and am short on time, so the audio was the way I had to go). I think the author has some talent, I enjoyed the story for the most part. But the narrator is AWFUL! I don't know if she naturally has that accent or - more likely - she was trying to put on a Southern/Kentucky/Tennessee accent for the book, but all she did was make the whole thing sound like it was drunk. O [...]

    4. Very good storyally enjoyed it. Look forward to reading her other stories.Author really kept the story goingry well donejust downloaded her next book.hope it is as good as the first one

    5. Book oneI really wanted it to be scarier, but it kept me reading. There was a lot of editing mistakes, which always throws me off. I'm going to try the 2nd book in the series, if it isn't better, I will probably put it down.

    6. I thought this was a good ghost story. I enjoyed it and trying to figure it all out. The mystery in it made it interesting.

    7. BookAt first this book was long and drawn out, it was very hard to get interested in it, too much information that really was irrelevant to the story line. Probably a little more then halfway through it, it kind of got interesting. I did finish it, because once I start a book, I will read it all. Not sure if I will purchase the next one or not

    8. Very good bookThis was the first book I've read by Rebecca Patrick-Howard and I must say I was very impressed. If you love mystery, paranormal with a touch of love, then you really need to read this one!

    9. Could've Been BetterThere were too many typos for my liking but it was a pretty good story for the most part. Not sure I'd recommend it though.

    10. A bit too chic-lit for me. It's a cute ghost story but you guess who did what half way through the book. However, it's an easy read to pass a couple of hours on the beach.

    11. Love the entire Taryn's Camera series. Wonderful stories combining old buildings, history and ghosts.

    12. Tayrn is a painter who loves to bring new life into old buildings. She's also able to see into the world of the paranormal so her paintings are incredibly lifelike. Windwood Farm is an amazing old house that calls to Tayrn but brings her some frightening experiences before her work is done. An interesting first in the series. Somewhat slow in the beginning and middle but quickly speeds into it's finish. Don't know that I'll read any more of the series unless they pick up speed a bit.

    13. I enjoyed this story and thought it was ideally suited to audio. The premise is simple and it is executed in a straightforward way. Taryn draws historic houses that are about to be demolished and is commissioned by the historical association. She finds herself intrigued by the history of Windwood Farm and tries to find out the fate of the past residents. It isn't a fast-paced novel, but more of a sedate spooky story. Most of the prose is third person storytelling. I don't mind this style as I re [...]

    14. I anticipated “Windwood Farm” so highly, I watched for a price drop. I was stunned to see Rebecca Patrick-Howard must be self-published despite being prolific. This was one draft shy of being polished. I understand having to learn how to express a great idea into a novel. We can see where we were headed but the molasses was too thick; including mistaken characters and a ton of redundancy. For the first time, I wished I’d had a PDF in lieu of a $12.00 paperback plus tax. This is a wonderful [...]

    15. Meh butchered storyAt first I thought I would really like this book. It had a history enthusiast who saw weird things through her camera and a haunted house. However, I was sadly let down. Taryn was obsessed with her grief to the detriment of her other relationships. I could never like her as a character because of how she pushed everyone away and treated her best friend. I could be sympathetic to her, but I never liked her. The ending where the story of the house was revealed was very butchered [...]

    16. I am a part of the Review Team @ The Paranormal Bookshelf. I received this book from the author in return for an honest review. Category: Paranormal, Life After Death, Ghost, Hauntings Spoilers: no Taryn's Camera Series Book #1As many of you know I have not read many books dealing with hauntings, ghosts or the likes. Yet I can say that this book was not what I had expected. The story of a woman named Taryn and her amazing camera Miss Dixi made for a story that was not only a paranormal book but [...]

    17. This book was great! It popped up while I was browsing through and the plot sounded interesting, so I had to give it a shot. It's a book I could not put down! Absolutely love how the author was able to twist the paranormal into a seemingly normal woman's life. Great read! I would absolutely recommend to those who like paranormal and historical stories. Already reading the second book!SPOILERS BELOWTaryn comes into a sort of awakening when she turns 30, and she realizes that some of the pictures [...]

    18. I love abandoned buildings, and if I had the chance to re-live my life I would be sure not to miss urban exploring. But as an archaeologist it has sort of been my job to uncover ruins and with the help of data try to picture what they once looked like. But this is about a woman who has a natural eye for it, and with the help of a trusty old Nikon she can tune in to the frequency of the past. How I envy her!The story has a bit of everything in it, ghosts, love, loss, pride, paranoia, and tempting [...]

    19. This book started out a little slow as there was a lot of description going on, but once it got into the jist of he story it was pretty good. I like the main character, Taryn because she is flawed and vulnerable which makes her more interesting. Taryn is hired to do a painting of an old house(as it was in it's glory) before it gets demolished. The house has a reputation of being haunted. During Taryns daily visits to the house to take pics and prepare for the painting, strange things begin to ha [...]

    20. *A Copy of this Book Was Given To Me By The Author In Exchange For An Honest Review*The synopsis you just read only hints at the story, a story that more than lives up to the hint. Before the end the heroine has survived two attempts on her life and found time to solve two murders. She fulfills her assigned task and leaves you wanting to read the next installment of Taryn’s Camera Tales.I have e-mailed the author separately to detail why only four stars when the description clearly indicates fi [...]

    21. Wind wood farm: a hauntingly great readI enjoyed the whole story. The chill in the air, the images in the lens it's all chilling and exactly what a good ghost story is made from. Probably age 13 and up should read it, I think anyone younger could get really scared. Keep your ice cold beverage close at hand, ur body under the blankets and just jump in with both feet. You're going to love this story!

    22. Taryn has a passion and talent for painting old buildings, often those being torn down, and painting as they may have looked in their hay day. She and her camera, however, have begun being able to do a bit of time shift and spirit communication.I suspect this was a first novel as there was some wandering and redundancy, as well as other issues HOWEVER it was a creative way to put us (Taryn) into a creepy situation.Took me a bit to get into it; this may have been because I'd been alternating betw [...]

    23. I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.I love a good ghost story and this had lots of great things to offer. The descriptions of the hauntings are genuinely spooky, something that a lot of writers of this genre don't quite pull off. Surely fans of the genre want to feel scared? So this is a big positive. The central character, Taryn, is intriguing and passionate about her work, although I felt like her detailed descriptions of it slowed the momentum of the story a [...]

    24. I almost didn't finish this, not because it wasn't good, but because I had sooo many other books to get through. When I finally had an afternoon free, this was the perfect pick-me-up. I had no trouble getting lost in the storyline, the author has a great descriptive style that is full of character. Her setting and the characters were full of charm and completely flawed, just like real people. I love the premise of this series. It really should be a TV showI can see that being a big hit. I know f [...]

    25. This is the first book in this series about a young woman who paints old, dilapidated/ruined buildings back into existence - in order to either rebuild them for their owners, or remember them before they are finally destroyed in order for their owners to build something new in their place. She has an eerie talent. with her trusty camera, and her art talent. With this story, she finds she has another talent she never fully realizedher paranormal gift as it were. She is a widow with a broken heart [...]

    26. This was the first book I've read chosen from the selection at Kindle Unlimited. I have to say, I LOVE Kindle Unlimited. It's so easy to find something of interest to read. For this one, I typed in abandoned or abandoned house and found this short but attention holding story of Windwood Farm.Taryn works with historical societies or private parties to paint old houses as they might have looked. With Windwood Farm, something is different from the start. It's enjoyable following along as Taryn work [...]

    27. Out of the PastTaryn was an artist that painted old buildings and houses. Her camera, Miss Dixie, did most of the prep work. She was painting a picture of Windwood farm for the historical society. Although the house was falling apart, she was excited and anxious to start. There was a very cold feeling in the house and her camera was picking up pictures of the way it used to be. When Taryn started looking at the pictures that she had taken, she was shocked when they showed faint outlines of a you [...]

    28. I wish I could give three and a half stars. That's what I think it should have. Not quite four, because as soon as Donald's character was introduced, the unraveling of the plot was evident. Also, there were a number of typos, grammatical errors and contradictions that were hard for me to overlook. That said, this book offers a good story line that was hard to put down. It's filled with action and spookiness, although from time to time it jumped scenes too quickly, and it leaves you wanting to mo [...]
