    1. 3 - She didn't need happily ever after. She just needed him. Stars.I really enjoyed this novella; it is a quick, sassy, sexy and emotional seasonal read. I liked that the author stepped away from the norm and gave the reader a female veteran, dealing with PTSD and the aftermath of a tour-of-duty gone wrong. "Privacy's overrated."Jessie is carrying around a lot of ghosts from her past, and Blake manages to help her see things from a different and more balanced perspective. The snarky banter betwe [...]

    2. Jessie is a war hero with a severe leg injury. She also has some scars that can't be seen. Blake is a sexy movie star. When Blakes sister is getting married at Jessie's family's resort - Blake and Jessie develop a connection. I love that this story is about a female injured vet and not the other way around. It made it really unique. Plus, Blake was the perfect person to help Jessie. He is not only super hot, but he is also really sweet, kind, and caring. I liked this novella but since it did dea [...]

    3. 2.5 starsI've discovered that certain topics like wounded soldiers battling PTSD issues is not the stuff I find as an escape for pleasurable reads.Let me clarifyI've never been a war movie watcher least of all a reader. War is war and it's devastating, ugly and although glamourized on the big screen and video games makes this reader overly saddened so I choose not to plunge into that ugly facet of human society. Why did I read this book, you ask?I'm asking myself the same question. I suppose bec [...]

    5. I liked the overall plot of this book. I liked Jessie. She was much stronger than she gave herself credit, and I can’t even think how I’d be after going through something like what happened to her. She had a long way to go in terms of physical and mental wellness, but she was going in the right direction. It was also interesting to see a female wounded soldier than the typical guy, very different how they deal with their troubles.I also liked Blake. He wasn’t just a movie star, he wanted m [...]

    6. If you've read The Mavericks Red Hot Reunion, the first book in the Sweetbriar Springs series, you will already be acquainted with the couple The Movie Star's Red Hot Holiday Fling centralises around. This is Jessie and Blake's story and for it, we rewind several years. When Jessie is forced to give up her career as a Marine following injury, she returns home determined to become a firefighter. And when Hollywood hottie Blake arrives for his sister's wedding and waltzes into her gym, sparks fly a [...]

    7. The Movie Star's Red Hot Holiday Fling is the real deal! First of all, I loved that Jessie was the scarred (physically and emotionally) war vet. Usually the hero has that role, so I loved the twist. A lot of times while reading this, I caught myself laughing out loud. Like when her “erogenous zone high fived” LOL. Jessie has been hurt and has issues letting people in. She wants a shot at the fire department, and in comes Blake. Yummy, fabulous Hollywood movie star Blake. Blake befriended her [...]

    8. **My thanks to NetGalley and EntangledPublishing LLC, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**This is a fairly quick novella to read, but the great thing about it is that it is the woman who is the wounded Marine and not the man. There are not enough of these role reversals in my opinion which makes the read that little bit better.Jessie is a sassy young woman released from the Marine on medical grounds, yet a year later is still struggling to get over her survivors grief and get [...]

    9. This red hot holiday fling is more than just sexy, good times! I love Blake's desire to help Jessie overcome her emotional scars. The fact that he thinks she deserves more than "a pretty boy" is proof that he's so much more than that. He's a man capable of great compassion, and he wants to take care of those that matter to him. Jessie, a Marine involved in a horrific event that resulted in her discharge from military service, is desperately trying to find her way, and Blake is more than willing [...]

    10. I loved this story! I found the female wounded warrior storyline very unique and interesting. This is a quick read and one I think you will enjoy. What starts out as a red hot fling quickly turns into so much more. Blake is a Hollywood action film icon but he wants to do so much more. Jessie is determined to get her injured body in shape to pass the firefighters exam. As the relationship develops the real motivating factors for both of them are uncovered. Great read and I highly recommend it.

    11. What an awesome book! I loved every minute of it. It kept me reading because I had to see what would happen next. Jessie back at her mom and dad's resort. She is an injured marine with survivors gulilt of still being alive. Blake a friend of the family and a red hot movie star is also staying at the resort. Blake is supposed to help Jessie get over her guilt so she can move forward with her life. Can Blake do it? Read the book today to find out. You will not be sorry.

    12. Note: This ARC was provided by Entangled Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The Movie Star's Red Hot Holiday Fling by Christine Glover is a prequel novella in the Sweetbriar Springs series and is set several years prior to the events in book one. Its release comes months after that of the first book and while I read both books in the order of release, they can be read out of order. Actually, I think it would be better if you read this novella before reading book one, The M [...]

    13. *ARC courtesy of Entangled Publishing in exchange for honest reviewJessie Sullivan is an ex-marine, returned home due to a bombing incident that almost cost her life, but she’s got a scarred leg instead to remember such a tragedy. 14. ****A gifted copy was provided by the publisher for an honest review****This is such a great story. The author writes this story in such a way that you feel the emotions coming from both the heroine and hero. Brilliant!Jessie Sullivan is a former marine & she is trying to qualify for the fire department’s grueling physical all the while dealing with trauma to her leg which was terribly hurt while overseas. She had to retire because she had to have pins put in her leg and she is dealing wit [...]

    15. 3.5 StarsThis was a quick read that had some great characters and a wonderful plot. I loved the fact that it was the heroine who was the wounded war veteran and how all the issues she faced as a woman were addressed. And who doesn't love the hot movie star – throw in a tortured past and you have a great hero!I loved the way that the relationship between Jessie and Blake grew. It was fun watching Blake chip away at all the walls Blake had built and helped her to realize that she still was a bea [...]

    16. This sexy novella is the story of Blake and Jessie. Jessie needs to prove to herself that despite her war injury, she can still compete in a man's world. When hot as hell movie star Blake challenges her workout routine while staying at her family resort, it's an easy step from workout pals to lovers. But with a two week time limit on their affair, will they go their separate ways after New Year's or find something to keep them together for the long haul?I can't tell you how nice it was read a bo [...]

    17. First I'd like to start with YES I read this BEFORE Thanksgiving 2014 and YES, I know I'm just getting around to reviewing. Why you might ask? Because I'm a #readingwhore who just forgets to review sometimes. Thank God for the kindle 'highlighting' and 'bookmarking'!Anywho. It's a quick read. It was emotional and sexy and the people were just sassy enough to keep me interested. It had an unusual spin on the PTSD norm we usually read about. We normally get stories of male veterans going thru PTSD, [...]

    18. This was an amazing and heart touching story. Jessie is a veteran that has been discharged after a bomb blew up and injured her leg. Yes, HER leg. The veteran is a female and I loved how the story really took her perspective and brought it to life for me. She was such an intense character and had a drive to prove that she still had value. Blake had some very similar characteristics, but they were shown in a different way. He was determined to show the world that he was more than just another pre [...]

    19. Tell me…what is your idea of a hero? For Jessie, her blinders were fully in place and her mindset was as follows: a hero is a one who dodges real bullets and even takes a few for his or her country. Watching her blinders come off was awesome! Not that I would ever say that those who serve are not heroes…they most certainly are heroes. But sometimes, heroes come in different packages. Off topic, a news story out of Fort Lauderdale announced that three men were arrested for feeding the poor, on [...]

    20. I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Movie Star's Red Hot Holiday Fling by Christine Glover. What I loved most about the book, was that the female lead (Jessie) was a wounded vet. It's definitely a unique twist when the female is the soldier in the story. There are so many books out there with the male being the soldier, so for me this was a breath of fresh air. The characters were well-developed and intriguing. The banter between Jessie and Blake had me smiling and kept me entertained. I loved how [...]

    21. What a perfect read on this veterans day! I give this book 4 stars. I guess being a mom of someone who is serving this country now, this story connects with me on a different level. Jessie is a former marine who was injured in the field has come home to try to find her way again. And since her medical discharge she is determined to qualify for the fire department. The last thing she needs is a hot, action movie star at his peak inferring in her plans. Blake Johnston is more than just a big scree [...]

    22. I love love loved that it's the heroine who has the military past, and did you read the blurb - omg - kick ass. I really enjoyed this novella; it is a quick and emotional holiday read. And did I mention I loved the premise? Female veteran dealing with PTSD? Awesome. Jessie is carrying around a lot of baggage, and Blake helps her see things with a little more perspective. Jessie definitely has opinions which I like and Blake isn't shy either. But Blake takes things too far and Jessie is hurt, aga [...]

    24. Jess is a wounded Marine trying to find her place back home. Blake is a movie star who is still trying to find his happiness. Together they discover there is more than just what they want [...]

    25. What a fantastic read! Christine Glover’s first novella is a winner! Tremendously well written, a great story, multi-faceted characters; it has it all! A superb female lead, a charming hero – not a cookie-cutter perfect alpha male but a real man; they are a perfect couple. Albeit a movie star, Blake wants more than a superficial career, and Jessie is a war veteran, she finds healing hard, and she is at a crossroads too. They meet, and it’s literary magic, but nothing feels rushed. Super! I [...]

    26. A movie star and a wounded vet. The difference here is the Movie Star is Blake an Action Hero restless to be more than just that in the film industry. Jessie, a wounded war vet with survivor's guilt. A no strings holiday affair while Blake is at the resort for his sister's wedding, both realize they want something more but can they trust each other enough to take those steps. A heartwarming, emotional and sensual read.

    27. "3.5 out of 5 stars! A heartwarming novel about a Hollywood action hero meeting a wounded ex-Marine, healing each other’s past pains and their hearts, with a little holiday magic thrown in. 28. I loved every minute of this book. The story really drew me in. It was wonderful how Jesse opened up to Blake and how he helped her work through her painful memories. It was a real feel good story. I would have liked it to be a bit longer thus the 4 stars(wish there was a 4.5).I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review of this book, which in no way influenced my opinion. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
