    1. Another fantastic Jacquot book, quite possibly the best yet. An arms dealer is on the run in France. Meanwhile, Daniel Jacquot is investigating a series of violent stabbings. All the victims are male and have seen prostitutes. By a quirk of fate, the arms dealer is attacked while leaving a brothel but survives. Once his identity is established, the two assassins (one an American CIA man, the other hired by an African dictator who was double-crossed) decide to kill him at the hospital where Jacqu [...]

    2. Whoa, what a masterpiece of intricate construction! Jacquot's reliable instincts assist him in his hunt for the person responsible for multiple knife murders, while he is anxiously anticipating the birth of twins with Claudine. This may be the most dramatic police procedural book I have ever read as there are so many threads brought together it is almost comedic tragedy. More of a thriller, a genre I usually avoid. However, this author pulls it off with great artistry, and I am more than ever an [...]

    3. Wrong book under this title!!I downloaded Knife Gun Poison Bomb, the 8th book in the series. Although the title page said Knife Gun Poison Bomb, it was clear that what was downloaded was the next book in the series, Talking To The Sharks. So THANKS A LOT KINDLE FOR THE SPOILER!

    4. Excellent - O'Brien does it again with his enigmatic French detective - Jacquot. A clever, twisted and threatening plot with separate threads - a serial knife wielding murderer and Russian arms dealer that come together in a gripping climax - with a sentimental and harrowing side as Jacquots' lover, Claudine is near to term with the birth of twins. No more or it will give it away!

    5. I am a big fan of the Jacquot series and have read all the earlier books more than once. When I saw the title of this one, my first thought was, “Hmm, really?” The answer is yes. In this deftly plotted, fast moving narrative, all of the title elements are brought together in one nail-biting not quite final scene.A Russian arms dealer (who has occasionally done dirty work for the CIA) has burned a couple of clients - leaving a planeload of rotten fish instead of the weapons for which he was p [...]
