    1. This is one of those books that brings perspective as well as providing a worthwhile reference resource. One of the things I like most about the the book is that it provides an opportunity to re-use several excellent expressions of outrage. By the way, the author is Saul K. Padover. The book underscores George Santayana's observation that "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."     2. The book was amazing. My favorites were the initial essays on George Washington and Alexander Hamilton. They were insightful and gave a different look as to why they were important. The other essays are just as good the two I mentioned/
