I really enjoyed getting a glimpse of all the wars that have taken place through letters written by soldiers- from the American War of Independence in 1775 until Aftghanistan in 2002. interspersed throughout are intors about each war that give a better understanding of why the war was fought and what happened. The letters changed over the course of time as it was realized the importance of not giving details as to specific locations as letters in earlier wars did becuase they might fall into the [...]
