    1. Thank you to Net Galley, the author and the publishers for an ARC copy for an honest review.Firstly let me explain why 3.5/4 star book.Still very enjoyable, love the main character Jon Reznick and Martha Meyerstein but the story was slightly slower going, a lot of meetings, a lot of surveillance, a lot more "talking" rather than action. An American diplomat goes missing and ex-Special Forces operative Jon Reznick joins a top secret team, led by FBI Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein, to help tr [...]

    2. 3.5 StarsHard Kill was another exciting read in the Jon Reznick series with an intriguing plot that never lets up.When an American diplomat goes missing, FBI Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein is in charge of putting together a team to find him. Jon Reznick, feeling he needs to repay Martha after the debacle in Florida, agrees to join the team to help locate the diplomat. While the team focuses on a terrorist group as being the possible kidnappers, Jon focuses on a Washington DC surgeon believ [...]

    3. Wow, having just finished this I feel exhausted. I have read book 2 straight off the back of book 1, which I personally like to do occasionally. Jon Reznick is our leading man and as an Ex-Delta Force guy he is no idiot. After book 1 Jon is taking some time out when he receives the nod from FBI Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein that he is 'needed'. He once again puts his visit to his daughter on hold and goes to see what Meyerstein needs from him. When a Senior Security Adviser goes missing Jo [...]

    4. I thought this book was better than the first. An overall quickly paced thriller about a possible terrorist plot. A lot of twists to the plot.I listened to the audiobook and it performed well.

    5. I had thought that Resnick might be a loner like Jack Reacher but instead he is more of a 'best of the bunch' kind of guy, working with FBI and other on a contract basis. This plot was a little typical of other books in the genre, with all the different US intelligence agencies involved, never knowing who can trust who. Cannot say much more without being a spoiler. An OK read and a page turner, but nothing special. I will give the next in the series a try.

    6. My marathon effort of catching up on months of backlog with my reviews is almost over. Another week should do it.That Jon Reznick, he's just too good. When a diplomat (O'Grady) goes missing without any clues, the FBI's Meyerstein seeks Reznick's help again. The last call O'Grady made on his phone was to a young woman, a student in Washington. This woman is now also missing so the starting point for the investigation is a former boyfriend of hers, a respected and brilliant surgeon, Dr Adam Ford. [...]

    7. The saga of Jon Reznick continuesAnother great action thriller featuring Jon Reznick , an ex-special forces operative with an uncanny ability to see through the fog of words and figure out the truth. A diplomat goes missing and the assistant FBI Director Martha Meyerstein asks Jon to join a team to find him. What seems true at first is found to be fed to them to push them in one direction as the truth moves away. The plot is great, with a fast-paced story that builds suspense until the end. Love [...]

    8. Hard Kill starts as an investigation into a diplomat's disappearance and goes on as a terrorist hunt. The action does not fail from beginning to end. The main characters are in line with expectations of the genre. FBI Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein is a very capable and strong woman who supports her team members and is ready to take on responsibility for their actions. Jon Reznick is a tough guy who is afraid of nothing and does not care about procedures or even laws as long as what he doe [...]

    9. Hard killOne of the better thriller stories in some time with dedicated people fighting a foe with unique unlimited resources beyond those readily seen in reporting today. Real time tie-in to the characters and events of today make you nearly convinced it could happen.

    10. a great disappointment I had great hope for this book after a terrific opener in the Reznick story line but was deeply disappointed by J.B. Turner's 2nd effort hereis was straight out of a hate America playbook, blaming the U.S. for creating Islamic terrorism and painting the CIA as our country's greatest enemy.oh, and while trying to insert a thinly veiled jab at George W. Bush, Turner appeared unaware that our nation's CIA headquarters is named for his dad, George H.W. Bush (gosh Turner, what [...]

    11. The opening seemed hollow to me. Who is this guy who's gone missing? Why do I care? What are the stakes? For too long, the only answer is a vague concern about national security; not until much later does a picture start to develop. And even once things pick up, it's all action and no depth, nothing to make the story - or the characters - stand out. The first novel, while not a new favorite, at least made me want to read more about Jon Reznick. I can't say the same about this one.(review copy re [...]

    12. A well paced thriller, with a few well depicted murders. Although I like a bit more on the murder side and less of the investigating, an enjoyable read overall. I was indecisive at first if this was the book for me - the plot appealed to me but found when I started reading it, the beginning didn't really flow. However, when I became more involved in the story I found it hard to put down.A tense and gripping ending.

    13. Hard Kill (Jon Reznick #2) doesn't leave a doubt in my mind that we have another great thriller Writer I picked all of the Authors Books up and have them on my kindle lately I think I have developed a gut feeling for a good read this series does not disappoint i will be starting Hard Wired Next these are real page turners and really well written absolute 5 Stars

    14. "Hard Kill" marks the second in the J.B. Turner series about ex dark ops agent Jon Reznick and his return to the light. This time, FBI assistant director Martha Meyerstein calls Reznick right before he spends a little time with his daughter to help her track down a missing diplomat. The trail appears cold and every FBI resource turns up little more than vapor. But Reznick's instincts, honed after a lifetime of dealing with people with nefarious desires, uncover a lead. But the object of interest [...]

    15. I like thriller books that are rooted in government and international stuff like terrorism and overall James Bond type stuff. I feel like their usually either done well or not; not a lot in between. This book is done well. I also like when I can pick up a second book in a series and don't feel lost at all which is what this book was like. Book two is a stand alone effort that is fine by itself as much as it is part of a series. It's probably easier for thriller books like this to stand alone and [...]

    16. Hard Kill is the second book in the Jon Reznick series, and it just keeps getting better! The intense storyline, complex characters, secrets and lies, betrayal, mystery, suspense, and intriguing twists will pull you in from the start, and keep you on the edge of your seat till the very end. A fantastic story, and a great addition to this exciting series! I strongly recommend this book, series, and great author!

    17. I am enjoying this series even though there are things with the story that bothers me. For this one, was the first several chapters where Jon is doing surveillance. I am sure for most detectives this is like 90% of the job and I can see why it is needed in a book. I am liking the characters Jon and Martha and the relationship they have in the book series. Also the title of the book definitely fits with the story. I did enjoy #2 more than #1 even with all of the surveillance dialogue.

    18. I received this as a review copy, and I really wanted to like it. However, I really struggled with suspension of disbelief. There is a lot of confusion about which agencies do various types of intelligence and law enforcement work, and I found this really distracting. Pacing is good, plot is fine, but for me, the devil is in the details.

    19. The book was good, but exhausting to read. It took several attempts over several months to actually read the book. If you like spy-thrillers, then this book is for you, If you simply like a good mystery, you may still like this book. The details are not gory, but the book is full of suspense. However, all the twists and turns did get exhausting to read.

    20. Outstanding Action and PaceOnce again a tightly crafted and well edited action story that leaves you riveted until the end. The stories could easily be blockbuster movies, and I hope that someday they will. If you crave Clancy, Cussler, Ringo, or Weber stories, then you will enjoy these. Recommended.

    21. A nice reading change of paceI have a number of authors that I read regularly, this was a change of pace book. Overall an enjoyable book, the main character is a bit too much of the macho spy character, and not enough humanizing qualities for my liking, but it was a good book to read and I'll probably check out another in the series.

    22. Good followup for Reznick and crewIf you like political intrigue it has some of that, if you want nonstop action then this is the book for you! This may well be #2 in the series but they stand alonet that you shouldn't pick up the 1st one, it was even better in my humble opinion. Enjoy! I did!

    23. Great ReadAnother wonderful story that was so exciting. Left me reading well into sleeping time! It used the Lord's name in vain constantly. It would have a 5 star had it not used the Lord's name in vain!

    24. Jon Reznick Book 2Are you kidding me?! The bad guy got got away?! I couldn't put this one down either. Same as book 1. Totally saw General Black as dirty. Gotta keep going with the next book. Thank you J. B. Turner!

    25. A real page Turner. Kept me interested the whole way.A real page turner. Kept me interested through the whole thing. I was a little disappointed in the end and wanted it to go on more.

    26. OutstandingThis was such a good book! I couldn't begin to explain all the thrills and chills this book entails!! Excellent author!! Can't wait to read his third book in this trilogy!!!

    27. Excellent thrillerCouldnt put it downwent to sleep with it in my hands. Perfect people ,Perfect startmiddle and end: For next book!! OMG! WOW!Thanks yo J.B. Turner and all his helpersfabulous read!!

    28. this was an awful read. no characterisation, no depth and the plot was driven forward by conversations telling what had occured meaning there was no risk involved to any of the characters. one to avoid.

    29. Good story and keeps you guessing as to what is really happening.I enjoyed reading this story and liked the twists and turns. The ending opens the door to more follow up which I would enjou
