    1. I loved this book so much that I bought it for my own personal picture book collection! This book tells the story of class of animals whose teacher asks who they want to be like when they grow up. Each students tells why they want to be like a certain member of their family. When it gets to little Johnny the duck, he is nervous to share because his family dynamic is very different. In the end, Johnny ends up sharing why he wants to be like his parents who happen to be pigs. The whimsical yet vib [...]

    2. What a wonderful way to talk about families! I loved the story! I loved the use of animals to talk about the traits that the little animals loved about their parents. I especially enjoyed how the duck, whose parents were pigs, recognized his differences, as well as his similarities to his parents. What a great way to talk about adoption and to talk about families with a younger audience.

    3. This toddle and up book about kids wanting to be like their parents until you meet the kid who doesn't have his parents features is great. Simple and clear each animal says they want mama's neck or dad's legs till you meet the child who doesn't have physical resemblance to it's parents but still want to be like them.

    4. Teacher asks the students who they want to be like when they grow up. Everyone looks like their parents and want long necks (giraffe family), antlers (deer family), trunks (elephant family) etc. But Little Duck does not look like his family. He is duck and they are pigs. But they both like mud, swimming, and eating food from the trash.

    5. I loved that this book focused on adoption and how families do not have to look alike to love each other. It even hints at the back of the book as well to a single-parent families. Even though I really liked the book, I still think it could have worked on the diversity a little more, such as including same-sex parents, more grandparents as primary caregivers, etc. But overall, a nice book for adoption.
