    1. Disclaimer: Read to find some Christmas presents for my step-niece, as requested by her parents.I received a free copy of this thanks to Netgalley and Chouette Publishing. This in no way affected my review.Publication Date: 02nd October 2017Review Date: 27th November 2017Santa’s Countdown to Christmas is a new twist on advent calenders. This book is a daily countdown until Christmas, with a story of how Santa is working hard to get everything done for Christmas. This is a really sweet book, an [...]

    2. The idea of Advent is to prepare for Christmas. This is exactly what Santa does in this book. Each day he has another task that either he, Mrs. Santa or the elves must do to get ready for the big night of delivering the presents. The idea is to read a short story (very short) of something that helps prepare them for Christmas. I would read this and then have my grandson open the day on the Advent Calendar. The illustrations are cute and will delight the little ones. A great addition to a family [...]

    3. 'Santa's Countdown to Christmas: 24 Days of Stories' by Kim Thompson with illustrations by Élodie Duhameau is a series of 24 short stories for each day in December.Throughout the course of the month, we see Santa and his team getting ready for the big night. Elves are busy, Santa is working out, and the reindeer and sleigh are also getting ready. Santa has to review the naughty and nice list, and there is one special present he needs to find. Will it all get done in time? The stories all span a [...]

    4. This is a great idea for the pre-Xmas weeks, a readalong for little ones that counts down the December days until Christmas. Like a bookish advent calendar. It's a fun tale of how Santa and the Elves get ready for all the excitement of delivering toys all over the world on Christmas Eve. Santa has to get fit, plan his route, ensure more than a billion toys are made, and check over the naughty and nice lists, among other things. The illustrations are vivid, lively and fun, and elevate a kids' boo [...]

    5. I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. From the publisherHelp little ones be patient until Christmas with this storytelling twist on the timeless Advent tradition. 6. I love the idea of this book, 24 stories to read, one day at a time, leading up to Christmas. The stories tell of how Mr & Mrs Claus and the elves prepare for Christmas. The illustrations are delightful, but I foresee the problem with this book being the need to stick to one page per day. Reading books with children, half the fun for them is turning the page and looking at the next picture, so trying to get a child to focus on one page and that be it for the day, may be a little tricky! It's [...]

    7. We loved Santa's Countdown and some of the words Santa used was great. "Twinklin Tinsel, Blisterin beards." Just to name a few. The book made is all laugh and for the boys to learn even though there is a naughty list, you can still have some great qualities that make Santa move you to the good list. And the special gift for a little boy who only asked for a toy for his little sister was priceless. A great read and wonderful illustrations.

    8. I received this ARC from Netgalley for an honest review.A cute little book that is perfect for those kids who like to countdown the days to Christmas. With a short story for each day, kids will look forward to a story for each day.

    10. This is such a fun idea and different twist on the Advent idea leading up to Christmas day. Every day adults and kids can read a story together to count down the days until Santa comes. The stories talk about how the Claus’ and Elves prepare for Christmas which can also provide a chance for people to talk about what preparations they make in their own family. The only negative I see is children have been ‘trained’ to flip pages to read the stories so having them focus and understand you hav [...]

    12. I was provided this advanced reader by Chouette Publishing. In exchange for an honest review of the book. This is my review. The book is a great read for all ages. As I read the fine details that Santa is saying, it takes me back to my own childhood. Remembering what it was like to wonder what was happening in the days leading up to Christmas. As I read this book to my nephew (who is 8), his eyes light up in wonder as we count down the days until Christmas with every event. This is a book I woul [...]

    13. Everybody knows advent calendars. My kids love those with chocolate. But they will love this one too: an advent calendar of Christmas stories. These tell us how Santa, the elves, and the reindeers are preparing themselves for the big day, Christmas day. The stories thought extremely short, are very amusing. The illustrations help to turn this book into a very fun reading. I think it will add to the pleasure and excitement of kids waiting for Christmas day.I received this book as an eARC from the [...]

    14. This title will be a unique addition to our Holiday selection offerings in our public library. A short vignette for each day leading up to the BIG DAY tells youngsters fun "facts" about the North Pole and all the activities that Santa and his workers must complete. This book can be a part of the anticipation of the season while helping teach patience, days of the month and counting all at once. Ho-ho-ho!

    15. Each Day Santa has a new story or thing to handle in the story. You also get some pretty pictures of Santa and his friends throughout the book. Its overall gives you a great Christmas vibe and beauty. I would recommend this for anyone who wants get Christmas books for the little ones. Now onto my final thoughts on this book which is at this link:melimimi/2017/09

    16. This book is a delight! It is full of bright, colorful illustrations that capture the humor of the story and the spirit of Christmas. The book works like an advent calendar with an activity or job to be done each day in December for Santa to be prepared to deliver presents. This would be a great title to add to the home collection for the holidays.I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

    17. I enjoyed this book but I wasn't a huge fan of Santa giving pets to children for Christmas and I have marked the book down from 5 stars to 4 stars for this, after all the advertising that a dog is for life not for Christmas I didn't really expect to see them being given as presents!! Other than that the images were lovely and the story was very easy to follow and I thought that countdown idea was great as you could read a page each evening - 4 stars from me

    18. *thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*3 stars.I liked the idea of how you can read one story a day instead of the whole book at once. Each day is its own little story. Its a good christmas book and I can see why it would be great for kids. Like most of us, Santa also has all sorts of jobs to do leading up to Christmas Day. In fact, he has 24 of them. They are a joyful read and the illustrations are really vibrant.

    19. Lovely book with really nice pictures. A great way to build up the excitement before Christmas. I must say I think this is a book that must be read as a physical book to see it in its full glory! Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an arc copy in exchange for an honest review.

    20. I think the kiddos will enjoy reading a day by day account of what's going on the North pole before the BIG DAY! From reading children's letters to baking cookies and making toys, Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves are very busy. Illustrations are nice, with lots to inspire imaginations!

    21. So cute! We collect Christmas picture books at our house, ones that relate the true story of the nativity as well as fun ones about Santa. This would be a good addition to the silly stack- cute gift for a family as well.

    22. This book had cute illustrations. It's a fun little story that goes through the days counting to Christmas as Santa's point of view. I didn't think there was enough to read per day but the idea is cute. I also laughed at Santa's expressions such as "Sufferin' snowflakes!" or "Gallopin' gumdrops."

    23. Beautiful illustrations. A wonderful twist on an advent calendar. I look forward to sharing with my son this Christmas.

    24. Thanks to NetGalley for providing this ebook for review. What a wonderful addition to your Christmas traditions with children. The content and illustrations are interesting, colorful, happy and humorous. Highly recommend.

    25. Santa’s Countdown to Christmas is like an advent calendar of stories for children. Each day you see Santa deal with something new… Will his suit fit him this year? Will they have enough toys? What I loved is that each day although a story in its own right flowed quite nicely into the next day and each story has a charming illustration to accompany it. I think my favourite character has to be Tec the Elf who comes up with one madcap invention after another in an attempt to modernise Santa and [...]

    26. Yay Holiday Books! This is a great idea for a holiday book. It takes the advent calendar we all love so much and is a book version. Each day/night you have a bit more to read about how Santa prepares for his journey around the world. What I liked about this book was the advent calendar feel - I didn't read it like that but thought it was a really good idea for parents and kids reading together each night. However, some of the days were very short excerpts which was a little sad.The sections have [...]

    27. Advent calendars have changed a great deal over the past 40 years, they've been the traditional Christian images depicting the story of the season, to ones containing sweet and then even to have candles, beer and a range of consumerisms finest. More recently, a trend of giving a book a day for advent has been doing the rounds, a great, if expensive, idea. This book put that all in one book with a story a day for advent. The language used in the book is engaging and supportive of good reading. It [...]
