    1. Sophie's suicide was a surprise to everyone. Her past, who she was really was, even more so. She was, in the end, someone I didn't like. But does that mean she deserved it? Was death really the answer for everything?Richard's decision to find out what his wife's note "I deserve this" meant leads him to discover a side of her he didn't know existed. The woman he loved, the woman he married, was sweet and perfect and capable and loved by all. The woman he discovered, was none of those things excep [...]

    2. A Reflection of Sophie Beaumont begins with the title character's suicide and then proceeds in a Citizen Kane-like manner as we follow her husband, Richard, trying to figure out what led his seemingly perfect spouse to abandon her loving family and end her trouble free life. The point of view alternates between Sophie and Richard as we walk from her childhood to the day of her death. I enjoyed this book, and I was surprised because it isn't normally the kind of book I would choose to read. This [...]

    3. I received an advance copy of this for review and was quite excited as parts were said to be based in my hometown. There wasn’t a huge amount of local detail unfortunately. The book itself however was a good read. The book untangles the back story of Sophie and her husband, discovering why things ended up the way they did and uncovering the twists and turns of their lives while showing the reactions of Sophie’s husband. The switching between perspectives took a little getting used to but see [...]

    4. I read this book in less than one day. I won't share too much as to not spoil the book, but I'm still honestly torn on whether or not she deserved it. I like the change in perspective between the characters, and the timeline jumps, which help the reader to understand Sophie and the life she lived. For this to be the author's first novel, she did a great job. The only reason I'm giving it a four star is because the editing on my copy was not so good. I found sentences missing here and there. None [...]

    5. A true page turner delving into Sophie's dark and tragic past. The brilliant cast of characters made me laugh out loud and sent chills down my spine at the more disturbing parts. I challenge anyone to not cry at the end! Spread the word, this must be read and could be the biggest thing since `Gone Girl`.

    6. We have a new author The five star rating reflects the great job Lorraine with her first book debut. The characters and their emotions they bring to the story are strong. Yes you probably will hate Sophia; but who among us should judge. Kisses. Note to Lorraine; all the best in the future.

    7. My tastes in fiction normally run to Police Procedurals and Historical novels so this book was a fairly new departure for me, I read it following a recommendation. I did enjoy it. It's a gripping story that moves along very smartly, and carries the reader along too. I think it would make a good movie, and the part of Sophie would be a gift to a young female actor.

    8. An enjoyable, engrossing book with a great ending. It doesn't let up from start to finish and has an interesting contrasting two people perspective in parts of the story.
