    2. This is a great book to aid in introducing synonyms. It is fun and interactive and contains sets of synonyms in a rhyming fashion. Some of the words are quite difficult, so it would be best suited for 2-4 graders.

    3. As with all the others in this series, I got these to share with my children as a fun and cute way to discuss language and have not been disappointed. They are cute and engaging for kids.

    5. We really enjoy the books by this author. He makes learning fun, and this is a silly and humorous rhyming book about synonyms. His books really entertain children while teaching them basic concepts; our girls really like them. The illustrations are cartoony and cute, too - we love the cats.We've read several of the books in the Words are CATegorical series and we've really enjoyed them. We will certainly look for more books by Brian P. Cleary at our local library.

    6. This book is set up perfectly to talk about synonyms. It explains to the reader what a synonym is and how we can use it to describe 1 thing in many ways. It does have a good part where I would ask the class to name synonyms for the word laugh. I can write all of the words on the board and discuss them. Then I would continue reading to see if we as a class came up with the ones in the book.

This would be a great book to read at the beginning of a synonym lesson or when teaching students the importance of a thesaurus. Give students a list of words and have them find a synonym in the thesaurus. Good for a literacy center
