    1. Shawn Lane has turned into a must read author for me. Her characters are very well written, and the chemistry that she writes between them are always smokin' hot!It has been years since Viscount Aubrey St. Clair and Daniel Blake, the Earl of Graystone have been together. In the last year at Oxford, Aubrey and Daniel became very close friends and have always fought their attraction for one another. One night, in a drunken carriage ride, Aubrey and Daniel finally give into their desires for one ano [...]

    2. 2.6 StarsMight as well have been a contemporary novel considering the way the details, dialogue and setting are written. Seriously, I would have rated it slightly higher were it based in a more current, aristocratic family/royalty because there's still a slight scandal & stigma attached to nobility acting outside social normsd there was little else to ground it as an historical. I mean, I'm pretty sure that exclaiming that a view of one's cock disappearing up another's bum as "fucking hot" i [...]

    3. This is a short erotic story – around 40 pages and due to that, it does feel a little rushed. There’s a flashback at the beginning which zips by at breathtaking speed, cramming in a sex scene when really I’d like to have got to know the characters, at least a little. This frantic pace continues as we are flung into a graphic heterosexual sex scene which jolted me as I really wasn’t expecting it, and the publisher’s page says m/m, no mention of het or bisexuality. So if that’s not you [...]

    4. This is a rather short, less than 60 pages, but interesting story. It's an historical romance with a Regency setting (1818). Daniel and Aubrey were college mate and friends years before; one night they gave up to the passion inside a carriage. Nothing more than a fast encounter, something Aubrey would be glad to prolong, but family issue took Daniel away for ten years. Now Daniel is a wealthy widower with two sons, and Aubrey a rake with a married lover and two illegitimate sons. When Daniel ret [...]

    5. This historical story is short but almost feels like a full length read. It's amazing how much information and character and plot development Shawn Lane can put into 30 pages. The characters, Aubrey and Daniel, feel like real people, we learn a little bit about their past lives and shared history, and their feelings are made very tangible. There's some hot attraction, angst, hurt and happiness - all very well dosed. Another Chance is a fast-paced story that doesn't allow you to put it down for a [...]

    6. * Contains spoilerThis is written quite well, the style is easy and the story flows well enough, But I disliked the two main characters, Aubrey (a viscount ) and widower Daniel (an earl) as they both appeared selfish, uncaring and weak! The way Daniel treats Aubrey after their 'night of passion' is downright appalling. Later he goes to see Aubreys mistress Lady Whittington to try to find Aubrey who has gone awol, whilst there, her husband appears and makes a comment hinting that Daniel is yet an [...]

    7. I really wish that the story was more conclusive. I felt that there was too many variables left in the air. I wanted to find out more about Maribel and the children. How Aubrey and Daniel resolved their differences.
