    1. Generally when I read pieces on writing, I'm looking either for inspiration and tips for my own writing or inside information about authors and books I already know and love. This collection included more autobiography than inspiration and advice, and there were only a few names that I recognized. Still, most of the pieces were entertaining and well-written, and they covered a wide variety of subjects and voices. It's a nice little collection from the late 80s.

    2. This was a good read. I found that I am a fan of short inspiring reads--especially on the writing life.
