    1. This is, without a doubt, the most TSTL (too stupid to live) heroine I've EVER encountered (and as a romance reader, I've "known" dozens.) But I should have known from the description. I don't know that I was smoking that I didn't notice the problem. You see, TSTL is an "undercover journalist" who decides to train as a sub to uncover a Dom that is hurting women in some S&M clubs. The problem? Almost within a couple of days, HER COVER IS BLOWN. However, she's hell bent on going in regardless. [...]

    2. I could see where the author was going with this, but it didn't really work for me.The major conflict of the story is based on mistaken assumptions and poor communication. Not just between the h/h, but it is pretty indicative of things when the gossip mill seems to supply more accurate, relevant information to the main characters than they provide to each other. Also, relationship misadventures due to miscommunication bothers me in mainstream romance, in bdsm it's even worse. The doesn't-seem-al [...]

    3. A lot of BDSM scenes. I wasn’t emotionally drawn in. I wanted more details about some of the plot development ONE BUT MADISON by Doreen OrsiniORY BRIEF:Madison grew up with three tough older brothers. She is a tough woman able to defend herself against anyone, so far. She’s an investigative reporter, recently undercover as a homeless person. Someone has been torturing women leaving scars, facial beatings, cigarette burns, and bloody whippings. None of the women will admit any details because [...]

    4. I will not rehash the storyline but the mixture of BDSM and "real" world story was great! It was a BDSM book but I did not feel that was all I was getting from this book. Maddison is a wonderfully head strong lady that is apprehensive at first in taking the assignment. Drake knows immediately that having her submissive to him is not only what he needs but it kind scares him a bit as well that not only putting her in a dangerous situation by trying to find a sadistic individual and pushing her li [...]

    6. It's hard to rate this book. I enjoyed the plot, but i had MAJOR issues with the heroine. Not something that i think would bother others, in fact it may be the reason why many would like her character, but it's one of my pet peeves. The fact that the hero seemed to like or be ok with the way she behaved at times, made me actually think less of him.I could try and understand that she was not part of the lifestyle and that's why she was disrespectful at times. But when your learning how to be a su [...]

    7. Ok, so I WANTED to give this 5 stars but I couldn't. I couldn't because Madison irritated the hell out of me. She acted like a bratty little child and didn't know how to relate to me at all! What irritated me more was that she seemed to be rewarded for that kind of behavior. I LOVED Drake's character. I wanted better for him. Madison did grow on me a little but no until very close to the end.I thought that the crux of the story was not fleshed out well enough at all. That should have been much m [...]

    8. So, in all fairness, I bought and read this book because I loved Doreen's blog about what the BDSM world is really like, in comparison to 50 Shades of Grey. And I'm SO glad I did! LOVED IT! It was well written, well edited (my biggest complaint about 50 Shades), it had believable characters. And it was HOT! Oh so hot! Even the things I know I'd never try in a million years were hot! I'm not going to do the spoiler thing, so I'll just say that if you like romantica, and even THINK (if you don't k [...]

    9. Love this book! Great storyline with a twist I haven't read before. Loved Drake and Madison, loved the bdsm aspect, and it was super smokin' HOT!

    10. I cheated and looked at the end to find out who the bad guy is. I don't usually do that, but I was having trouble tracking the development of the relationship between Madison and Drake because I was anxious about what Madison would have to go through before the end. So I apologize for being a wimp. What I liked: Madison, her aunt Louisa, Drake (most of the time), the way Drake introduced Madison to the beauty of submissionWhat disappointed me: the strange story thread with Madison's cousin Rob, t [...]
